This is your chance to take a look at your police department from the “inside – out” to learn how a police agency operates.
You will learn what the officers learn regarding the History of Policing, Crime Prevention, the Criminal Justice System and Traffic Law and Police Technology.
In addition, you will be trained in the conduct of traffic stops, the criminal investigations process and crime scene processing, how to conduct building searches and what is involved in dignitary protection operations.
There is no charge to attend this class. The Citizens Police Academy program is sponsored and conducted by the Rice University Police Department for members of our communities so you can more fully understand the workings of the police and criminal justice system.
