Greetings to the Rice campus community,
Earlier this calendar year, RUPD partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to collect old and unused prescription pills. We are excited to announce that we are partnering again with the DEA to offer this valuable service to our community.
This Saturday, October 29, RUPD will have a collection site set up in front of the RUPD Station at Entrance 8. The collection will take place from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. RUPD will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps, and illicit drugs will not be accepted. Additionally, RUPD will accept vaping devices and cartridges, provided lithium batteries are removed.
Please contact Lieutenant Frank Fernandez at 713-348-5067 or ftf1@rice.edu if you have specific questions about this prescription collection.
Thank you,
RUPD
