Description:

    == CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY CLASS # 6 == The Rice University Police Department's Citizen Police Academy is a 36 hour block of instruction designed to give the public a working knowledge of the University Police Department's officers, civilian personnel, and policies. CPA students will receive training in police procedures, communications, criminal investigations, alcohol and drugs, firearms safety, patrol and tactical operations and much more. Emphasis will be placed on the community oriented policing philosophy and University Policing Strategies. Instruction will consist of lectures, demonstrations, tours, and hands-on experiences.
