| The Rice University Police Department received its new custom badges on Thursday, September 28, 2000. The new badge was designed by RUPD's Sergeant Randy Marshall and was custom built by SymbolArts, Inc., Ogden, Utah. The artwork consisted of several designs, Lovett Hall, the Athletic Owl, and Willie's Statue. We decided that the look of the badge with the statue and Texas State Seal in the base would give a well-rounded effect.
Each officer will be issued a uniform badge, an ID wallet badge and the custom hat badge (below).
